Across Malawi & Zambia – 13 Days on Africa’s Wild Roads

Liwonde - Sunswet

From the wildlife-rich floodplains of Liwonde National Park to the remote roads of northern Zambia and the thunder of Victoria Falls, our latest overland safari became a true African expedition. Over 13 days and 12 nights, we crossed Malawi and Zambia through lakeside villages, mountain roads, border posts, waterfalls, and hidden wilderness areas. Challenging road conditions in northern Malawi and Zambia tested both vehicle and driver, but rewarded us with unforgettable landscapes, authentic encounters, and experiences far beyond a traditional safari. One thing became clear along the way: Africa is best experienced slowly, and this incredible route deserves at least 16 days to fully enjoy the journey.

No lions, no leopards — just a reminder that the best safaris aren’t about ticking boxes, but about immersion, atmosphere, and truly wild encounters.

Prey weighing their chances. In a split second, instinct prevailed — the buffalo wheeled away in a cloud of dust, choosing distance over confrontation, while the lions remained beside their hard-earned prize.
