Day 2-4
Northern Kafue National Park
Kickstarting the day with a hearty breakfast, we gear up for adventure, bidding farewell to Lusaka as we venture westward to the colossal Kafue National Park. Picture this: it's larger than Slovenia, and the mighty Kafue River courses through its veins, sustaining life in the region. As the dry season unfolds, wildlife converges along the riverbanks and remaining waterholes, turning this park into a diverse haven of species and habitats. Get ready for thrilling game drives, and if you're up for it, an optional boat cruise to elevate your safari experience. Our meals? Fresh, flavorful, and expertly cooked over an open fire. As the day winds down, rest awaits in our spacious canvas dome tents, promising a night under the stars in the heart of nature's embrace. 🍃🦓
Day 5
Mongu
Rise and shine for an early start as we journey to our next destination, Mongu, the vibrant capital of Western Province. Following a hearty breakfast and loading up, we embark on a transfer game drive within Kafue NP until we reunite with the Great West Road at Chunga North Gate. After a lunch stop in Kaoma, we'll reach Mongu in the afternoon, seizing the opportunity to stock up for the upcoming days in Liuwa Plain NP. Comfortable rooms await for a restful night, with dinner on your own agenda. 🌄🚙
Day 6-9
Liuwa Plain National Park
Embark on a thrilling journey as we traverse the picturesque Barotse Floodplains from Mongu to Kalabo, crossing the Luanginga River on a brand-new bridge. Navigating through soft, white powder sand, our adventure leads us to the African Parks Office after an hour, where a bit of paperwork awaits – but don't worry, the excitement is just beginning! Step into the wonders of Liuwa Plain, spending the next three days on captivating game drives amidst the expansive plains, spotting Wildebeest, Spotted Hyenas, and more. With recent reintroductions of African Buffalo, Lion and African Wild Dog, the wildlife spectacle is unparalleled. And let's not forget the incredible birdlife! Rest for the night in our spacious canvas dome tents, a comfortable sanctuary under the starlit African sky. 🚙🌅
Day 10
Mongu
Embarking on a return journey to Mongu, we traverse the expansive Barotse Floodplains, an area annually submerged by the Zambezi River. Home to the semi-nomadic Lozi people, these floodplains serve as vital grazing grounds for cattle and fertile farmland during the dry season. Our pitstop in Mongu includes restocking fresh supplies for our upcoming adventure. Recharge in comfortable rooms for the night, and for dinner, the choice is yours. 🌊🛤️
Day 11
Ngonye Fallls / Upper Zambezi
After a hearty breakfast, we pack up our gear as usual and cruise down to Sioma on a smooth tar road. Our next stop? The hidden gem, Ngonye Falls in Sioma. This horseshoe-shaped waterfall flaunts its beauty best when the Zambezi River's water levels are at a gentle ebb. We'll leisurely wander around the falls, and you'll witness its charm firsthand. Tonight, we'll be bunking in our spacious canvas dome tents once more. 🏞️✨
Day 12
Livingstone
The journey itself is the destination! The initial part of our road trip to Sesheke boasts impeccable conditions, but brace yourself for the real adventure beyond that. We'll be navigating through potholes with a little dance and carving our own path. The road from Kazungula to Livingstone promises another smooth ride, nearly perfect. Today is all about driving, no specific activities on the agenda. We'll be resting in comfy rooms, and dinner is on your own tab. 🚗✨
Day 13
Mosi-oa-Tunya NP / Victoria Falls
Guess what's in Livingstone's Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park? Square-lipped Rhinos, also known as White Rhinos! Early in the morning, while it's still refreshingly cool, we'll venture into the park for a captivating walking safari. Get ready to experience nature at ground level, follow tracks, and engage in discussions about plants and their uses. Our goal? Spotting some White Rhinos up close. After this invigorating adventure, we'll unwind with a picnic by the river.
And because no visit to Livingstone is complete without it, our afternoon plan involves marveling at the magnificent Victoria Falls.
Tonight, we'll be resting in comfy rooms. Lunch and dinner are on your own tab. 🌿🦏
