Itineraries
Day 1 - 2
Mfuwe Lodge
Ease yourself into Luangwa life with a 2-night stay at the award-winning Mfuwe Lodge. Set beneath a canopy of ebony and mahogany, its thatched buildings are arranged around the banks of two lagoons. The extended deck allows you to make the most of armchair game viewing, outdoor dining, and a shady place to relax by the swimming pool.
The airy interior of the lodge has been recently refurbished with comfortable seating, beautiful botanical print cushions, African-inspired art works and unique décor touches.
From each of its 18 thatched, air-conditioned chalets you can enjoy your own private piece of Africa. Seethrough sliding doors open onto secluded covered verandas looking out over wallowing hippo and thirsty game in the lagoons, so you really do feel at one with nature. The contemporary soft furnishings with bespoke touches and attention to detail reflect the natural environment.
Day 3 - 4
Kuyenda Bushcamp
Set off after breakfast in an open game viewer for a leisurely one-hour drive to Kuyenda Bushcamp, where
you will spend the next two nights.
There's something undeniably special about Kuyenda. Set beneath shady trees by the Manzi River, it
embodies the authentic charm of old Africa with its cluster of traditional thatched grass huts with large
raised decks, outdoor en-suite bathrooms and back-to-nature feel.
Kuyenda is renowned for its warm hospitality, sumptuous meals, and first-class guides, and it is the perfect
getaway for individuals and small groups wishing to explore the spectacular wildlife of the South Luangwa.
Here the walking safari is king; this is what we are famous for. Our guides will let you in on the secrets of the
bush: there is always something new to learn, a new bird or animal to spot, and a new unforgettable
experience.
Game drives are also on offer morning and afternoon/evening. At night, a whole new cast of characters fills
the landscape! In the quiet moments in camp, relax in the lounge and look out over the rippling grasses of
the neighboring plain where the drama of the African wilderness is played out each day.
Day 5 - 6
Chindeni Bushcamp
Chindeni Bushcamp is a tranquil tented camp on the edge of an oxbow lagoon with the Chindeni Hills
providing an amazing backdrop. Recently refurbished, Chindeni embodies understated luxury in the true wild.
The central open tented dining area, deck, and bar overlook a lagoon with a stunning view across to the
Chindeni Hills. An eclectic mix of contemporary furniture, handcrafted bespoke chandeliers, and unique
creative touches harmonize with the surrounding environment.
Chindeni’s four spacious tents are raised on wooden decks overlooking the lagoon, each with its own private
view. All have been refurbished in style, creating a serene restful space,.
Fine linens and soft textured accents inspired by nature makes this space a sanctuary to rejuvenate after a
day out on safari.
Day 7 - 8
Kapamba Bushcamp
Kapamba is a quiet sanctuary set in a pristine game-rich area of the park, allowing one to see, feel, hear, and
smell Africa.
This special bushcamp has had a total renovation. The main lounge and dining area is a large open space
extending onto a tiered deck with beautiful 180-degree views of the Kapamba River (which the camp is
named after). Dappled light filters through the trees onto the deck, which is scattered with comfortable
seating areas to relax and connect to nature. A new addition is a swimming pool on the lower deck, a
welcome sanctuary on a hot day.
The four stone and thatched chalets, opening onto private verandahs with river views, have been beautifully
refurbished. Dark russet walls, oversized beds with linen throws, big mosquito nets and copper accents create
a peaceful ambience to rest and restore. The bathrooms feature indoor showers opening to the outdoors.
Two chalets feature raised salas that look out over the river, a place to game view, read, snooze, or just relax
in calm solitude during afternoon siestas. The salas also have toilets installed below, so they are are a perfect place to spend a night sleeping under the stars.
