White-faced Duck

An afternoon game drive is just about the right thing to do when in Livingstone. We are so fortunate to have the Mosi-oa-Tunya NP on our doorstep. It’s a small national park. Just 66km² but it hosts a good number of species like Zebras, Buffalo, Impala, Baboons, Giraffe and many more. Large predators are not present except for 2 Spotted Hyenas. They came some time back in last year to the park. During the day you might find the tracks but seeing them isn’t likely. For all the herbivores it is like heaven in Mosi-oa-Tunya NP.

We entered the national park around midday. It is not the ideal time because a lot of herbivores are ruminant. That means they are chewing the gut and are somewhere resting in the shade. It’s a matter of keeping the eyes open. Checking under the trees and in the shade. Take a look at the snapshots from this afternoon game drive.
