Happy New Year. How many times have we heard this in the past days? Does it have any meaning? Good, it is a new year but will it be any different from the previous one? I personally hope it will be different. The last 2 years have been rough and tough and another year like this would push us over the edge. My hope is that travelling the world will slowly get back to normal. Yes, this Covid-19 will stay with us like HIV / Aids and we have to accept that it will be with us for good.

What is new or different in Zamsato this year?

First of all we continue to offer all our Tented Safaris, Bush Breaks and Lodge Safaris in 2022. We will add more itineraries to offer more options for our guests. But first the big news.

Zamsato supports Lifasi Trust School

Lifasi Trust School is located under a tree in Lingulyangulya Village in Mulobezi District of Western Province. It’s about 250km away from Livingstone or 8hrs drive when the road is dry. Jimmy Kakoma grew up in this village and never had the chance to finish his education. His dream is to build a school in his village to give the children a brighter future. We are supporting his dream. Zamsato will take 3% of the safari price ( less taxes, levies and fees) from every confirmed booking and will use this money to help building the school and drill a much needed borehole.

Tented Safaris – safaris for the adventurer

The Tented Safaris have undergone some changes. All Tented Safaris have fixed departure dates and will leave run anticlockwise. This means that the 14 – Day Pizi Safari – Western Explorer and the 19 – Day Kokomo Safari – Western Circuit will leave Lusaka westward and head via Northern Kafue NP to Liuwa Plain NP followed by Ngonye Falls and Livingstone (End of Pizi Safari). The Kokomo Safari continues via Southern and Central Kafue NP to Lusaka and ends there. This change has become necessary due to the bad road conditions especially the stretch from Sesheke to Kazungula. The length of the safaris have changed too. The Pizi Safari is 14 days and the Kokomo Safari is 19 days long now. The 8 – Day Kwalata Safari – Southern Kafue Explorer is now running from Livingstone to Lusaka.

Lodge Safaris – safaris for the discoverer

Our Lodge Safaris are focusing on the Luangwa Valley and Lower Zambezi. We will add itineraries covering Kafue NP and Livingstone soon. These itineraries are safari ideas. We are more than happy to offer tailor-made itineraries. One can easily contact us via the inquiry form and tell us what should be included and where the safari should go to and for how long.

Bush Breaks – short safaris in Zambia

Our Bush Breaks are short 3 – 4 day safaris covering Kafue NP, Lower Zambezi and South Luangwa. The Bush Breaks can be combined to make it a safari from Livingstone via Kafue, Lusaka and Lower Zambezi to South Luangwa. The Bush Breaks are available as camping and accommodated. The Zambezi Canoe Adventure is a river safari starting at Kiambi with an overnight stop on an island in the Zambezi River. All our Bush Breaks can be extended and customized.

Anything else?

Zamsato got a few things in the pipeline but it is too early to reveal them. As soon as we can we will make the announcement.

We like to thank all our guests for their continued support. It has been a challenging time. We have made it this far and we will reach the other end of the tunnel. We look forward to an exiting New Year!

PS: Did you test positive for the travel bug? Our safaris are the right medicine for you.
